WatchSpecs

About WatchSpecs

WatchSpecs is built for people who obsess over the details. It’s a clean, fast way to compare watch specifications side by side, without digging through forum posts, PDFs, and marketing pages. Whether you're deciding between two references or just exploring what's out there, WatchSpecs helps you focus on the numbers that matter.

What WatchSpecs Is

WatchSpecs is an independent, specification-driven resource for modern and classic watches. Instead of reviews or hype, the core of the site is structured data:

  • Case dimensions | diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug
  • Movement details | type, power reserve, frequency, complications
  • Wearability | water resistance, materials, bracelet or strap information
  • Practical specs | lug width, weight when available, crystal type

The goal is to make it easy to answer questions like: “What else wears like this at 36–38 mm and under 11.5 mm thick?” or “Which alternatives have similar specs but different materials or movements?”

Why It Exists

Most watch content online is either marketing, opinions, or scattered forum threads. Those are useful, but they make it hard to do clear, apples-to-apples comparisons.

WatchSpecs exists to centralize reliable technical data, standardize fields so watches can be compared fairly, and save collectors time when researching and shortlisting pieces. It's not a marketplace and it's not trying to replace enthusiast communities. It's a reference layer you can trust while you do the rest of your research.

How the Data Is Built

Specifications are compiled from a mix of official brand documentation, authorized dealer information, and community-verified data where appropriate. The database is continuously refined and expanded over time.

If you spot an error or have better source information, you're encouraged to reach out so the data can improve for everyone.

Independent and Unbiased

WatchSpecs is an independent project. It is not owned by any watch brand, retailer, or marketplace.

  • No paid placement in comparison results
  • No brand influence over how specifications are displayed
  • Any affiliate or commercial relationships, if used in the future, will be disclosed clearly

The intention is simple: keep the specs honest so you can make your own decisions.

What's Next

The roadmap includes more brands, deeper coverage of references, better filters for size and wearability, and user features such as saved comparisons and watch shortlists.

If there's a feature you'd like to see, or a brand you wish were better represented, feedback is always welcome.
